By the way of summary let me tell you something about my experience.

For the past 20 years I have been searching for and finding thousands of individuals who were involved in health studies which required updated information about the study participants every two years.

In order to establish new address records, I have had to be very creative in the use of the many resources at my disposal. I am happy to say that I have been able to maintain a less than 9% loss to the study base.

Here briefly are some successful case examples.

  • Fifteen years ago Mable Smith was a domestic in Chevy Chase, MD. This past year her former employer died and left money to a Sara Smith. Not only was the first name wrong, but there was no known address nor did anyone know this name. We were asked to search for Sara Smith. We were able to verify through various means that Sara was Mabel Smith living in Kentucky who was entitled to receive $30,000 inheritance.
  • With so many large developers buying up property in the Pine Barrens and other large parcels of old farm acreage, inadequate title searches have become more apparent. I have researched many cases tracing the family lineage back before the 1880's and locating current members who are alive. This becomes a serious genealogical search. In most cases after collecting birth and death certificates, a Family Tree is provided. This is called "a Quiet Title Search."
  • In the past few years I have been asked to locate families in other countries such as Poland, Hungary, and Croatia. As an example, I was given 13 names in the USA and found 35 more names and addresses of family in Poland. They wanted to rent a charter plane to come to meet everyone! These have been very successful and sometimes the enjoyable uniting of "lost" family members.

When an elderly unmarried person dies, the estate is distributed either to the State of death or to grandparent heirs who usually become known in time. Usually only one side of the family is aware of this estate and it is my obligation to find everyone on both sides.

To open a case I require a retainer. If, upon initial evaluation, I do not feel that I can locate your missing person, the retainer will be refunded. By the same token, I will, in the instance of a projected successful search, submit a report of my activities and notify you if it appears that it will be necessary to exceed the amount of the retainer. This would be calculated on an hourly basis, plus out-of-pocket expenses, such as mileage and telephone, and document copying costs.
